We all grow spiritually at different rates

It is really important to remember that while you are in relationships with other souls on Earth, you are also travelling your own individual path. You might be experiencing rapid spiritual growth, while your loved ones are progressing at a slower rate.

You need to communicate how you are feeling - how your rapid growth is affecting the relationship. They have choices - they can consciously speed up their own rate of spiritual growth, or move more slowly. Either way, as long as you talk about it, you will be fine.

Your soul is always there, waiting patiently

I am reminded again how my soul is the real me, and my personality/lower self the temporary coat I wear in this lifetime. While meditating just now my head was full of tasks I need to do today. Suddenly I realized what I was doing, and shut off the busy thoughts.

Immediately I saw the rosy warm light of my soul - it was there all along, patiently waiting for me to sort my head out! It is so comforting to know who I really am, especially on days when my personality struggles, eg arguments with teenage daughter.

Do start to set aside a few minutes a day to quieten your head, and build a relationship with your soul - it is a wonderful investment.

Time really is speeding up

I'm reading about Photon Energy, the band of spiritual energy that Earth has entered. A feature of Photon Energy is that time is gradually speeding up, and will one day not exist at all on Earth! We are entering the fifth dimension, and time is so third dimension :).

If that sounds crazy, remember time doesn't exist in the spirit world, and if it wasn't for clocks, it wouldn't exist on Earth either. Time is a concept used by humanity to maintain order. My daily life tells me that time is speeding up. What's your experience?

Make time to listen to your intuition

Maitreya reminds us that everyone on Earth has intuition. It is up to you whether you trust it or not, but know that your intuition is your direct link to the spiritual world. Take a moment right now - stop and listen to your inner voice - what is it saying?

When your life is hectic you are not being guided by your intuition. It is your personality in the driver's seat, and it just loves detours - anything that prevents you from staying on track and achieving your soul purpose. Make time to listen to your intuition.

As Earth's vibration rises steadily, cpportunities for spiritual growth are coming thick and fast. Extreme weather is being felt everywhere, even here in benign New Zealand. Cantabrians are exhausted due to 650 aftershocks since the 7.1 earthquake on 4th September.

Each time you suffer, you have two choices: you can feel fear, or you can trust in the fact that you are an eternal soul and can never 'die'. Tiredness can sap your faith and strength. Hold on - light is just around the corner. None of your suffering is in vain.

Past life regression releases emotional burdens

For many years I have experienced an irrational dislike of someone. Yesterday I did a self regression which took me back to a past life in 1600's Holland, where the person was my younger sister. She was intensely jealous of me, and poured boiling water over my hands.

For years I tried to forgive myself and her for the dislike, but it didn't worked. As soon as I saw her jealousy in the past life it explained everything. I felt the burden of dislike lifted, to be replaced by compassion. Past life regression really can set you free.

Live in the 'now' and finally feel peace

For 25 years I have steam-rollered through life, desperate to find my soul purpose. Now that I have arrived, it is astonishing how peaceful I feel. I know, deep in my heart, that all is well. There is no need for urgency - everything is unfolding beautifully.

I am also finally experiencing living in the 'now', something I have read so much about and yearned for over the years. Thank goodness I can rest now and enjoy the scenery along the way. If you are not experiencing peace, do consider having a soul purpose regression.

More thoughts on soul purpose regression...When someone revisits a past life, the emotion they often feel is sadness or regret. They are going back to that life because there is unfinished business there that is affecting them in this lifetime.

All energetic patterns must be resolved. You cannot cross your fingers and hope that unfinished business will just disappear. What unfinished business do you have in this lifetime? What fears and unhealthy relationships will you have to face in your next life?

You are the hero of your own life

The Hazeldene AA reading this morning said 'You are the hero of your own life'. As I facilitate soul purpose regressions for people, I can see how true that is. You are the main character in countless plays (lives), with many characters, all of which helps you grow spiritually.

It's interesting to observe a regression where the person visits two past lives. I can see how all the lifetimes a soul experiences are linked. Also, those lifetimes are linked to a multitude of other souls' lives. The intricacy of God's plan for Earth is quite simply stunning.

Forigive yourself for being human

Yesterday I had a reminder that I am only human, and sometimes life can be difficult. My husband and I made a decision which involved letting down a family member - it was a no-win situation, and we had to choose the best option for our immediate family.

I was amazed at how guilty I felt, until my spirit guides advised me to let it go. There is no right and wrong in situations - there are just options and choices. I did the best I could at the time, and would make the same decision again. I'm forgiving myself.

Ask for spiritual healing when you need it

This morning my energy felt heavy - it is raining again and my sister in law, who is staying with us, has swine flu. During meditation I asked for healing for her, for my family and for myself. I asked my guides to prevent me getting swine flu as I am doing regressions this week.

Suddenly purple light poured in, along with flashes of brilliant golden light. It was so bright I quickly opened my eyes to see if the sun had come out, but no. My guides said to relax while they healed me. I felt my energy levels rise, and now I feel fine again.

I know, with all my heart, that we are energy beings. I never get ill, but last year I became depressed and contracted influenza. Try to keep your energy positive and loving, and if fear/negativity creeps in, ask your guides for healing. 'Ask and ye shall receive.' Do try it.

You are ascending right here and now

I have always thought of ascension as being just for a chosen few. However Linda Backman gives this definition: 'A conscious awareness and energetic state where we are aware of residing in the physical world while simultaneously maintaining divine consciousness.'

It means if you are spiritual aware on a daily basis you are in a state of ascension. It means Earth holds little attachment for you, and after you have spread the message of love and light, and helped humanity ascend, your excellent work here will be done.

Your personality loves sabotage behavior

Today I am observing my personality as it attempts to derail my soul from achieving its purpose for this lifetime. It is resisting learning an aspect of technology that will be important to my soul purpose regression work. There is pleading and whimpering: 'Too hard!'

In the past, my personality tried to sabotage my career by procrastinating on connecting with potential clients. Thankfully I have overcome this tendency. Examine your own tendencies to resist progress, and inform your personality that you'll be doing it anyway. :)

Give people a 'leg up' to grow spiritually

Two close members of my soul group are experiencing an intense time of spiritual awakening. It began for both of them when a loved one died, and continues daily. I know (so do they) they have as much spiritual awareness as I do. It is time to reconnect with their soul.

Spiritual growth involves us giving a 'leg up' to our soul group members, and anyone we can help. I am being helped by my spiritual guides and teachers, and in turn I am helping people on Earth. We are all one - separation is an illusion - we must help each other grow spiritually.

Devastating events always have higher meaning

I have finally realized that it's my personality/lower self that is anguishing over my loved ones, who are still experiencing sizeable quake aftershocks in Christchurch. My soul knows they are safe - I was reassured of this during meditation just now.

Cantabrians are living daily with on-going fear, and (these words come from total love) it means their spiritual growth has catapulted ahead. They are banding together, showing compassion for family and neighbors. Their heart centres have been blasted wide open.

At an AA meeting yesterday, someone had received a call from a friend from Christchurch who said, 'There are no atheists left in Christchurch'. There is a great deal of truth in that little joke. Such devastating events must have higher meaning.

Send love and light to suffering loved ones

Last night I experienced a horrible feeling of helplessness, thinking of a loved one in Christhchurch. I could feel the helplessness dragging me down, sapping my energy. This morning I decided that I needed to take action on a spiritual level - I am not helpless.

I sent violet healing light to my loved one. I pictured their energy being smoothed and calmed, releasing any fear caused by on-going aftershocks. I gave them a long loving hug, and I know they will pass on that love to their loved ones who are fearful.

If you cannot physically be with someone who is suffering, it does not make you helpless. We are all energy beings of love and light. You can send love and light to individuals and entire populations. Trust what you cannot see: it will make a difference.

Disasters shock humanity into feeling compassion

Last night at astrology group I learned that Christchurch is the heart centre of New Zealand. The recent 7.1 earthquake has inspired an outpouring of compassion from New Zealanders for Christchurch souls. Each country has a heart centre city/town eg London, Geneva, Tokyo.

Large scale disasters are designed to shock humanity into awareness of compassion. The Holocaust was a drastic example of this kind of event. Millions of souls bravely chose to die in concentration camps to open humanity's eyes to the evil of discrimination.

Last night during our short meditation at the end of astrology, I pictured a giant red heart covering Christchurch city, and then I poured healing violet light into the heart. You can send violet light to Christchurch, or Pakistan where millions are still suffering.

There's just one word to describe earthquakes: fear. The main quake catches you by surprise, but aftershocks are all about expectation. How bad will it be? Will I be killed or seriously injured this time? The on-going intense fear can paralyze you, as you wait for aftershocks.

Earthquakes and their aftermath are a huge opportunity to step out of fear, into trust and faith. Remember you are a soul - you are indestructible. Your soul energy has always been, and will always be. And your deepest fears rarely eventuate.

When you experience fear, focus intently on the now. Here and now, I am okay. The future is next minute, next week, but I am safe now. Two days ago my daughter was ill with swine flu, and I experienced fear for her health. I know fear. We're all in this together.

You are never alone during the storms of life

The people of Christchurch woke this morning to the harsh reality of the extensive damage caused by yesterday's earthquake. Now the shock has worn off, many will question why such a frightening event happened to them. They may be contemplating their own mortality.

Every event on Earth has been planned by the souls involved before incarnating. Brutal as it seems, the souls in Christchurch collectively agreed to experience this earthquake, to fast forward their individual and collective spiritual growth. We must pray for them.

Remember the teachings of Silver Birch: 'The soul comes into its own not in the sunshine but in the storm.' Then he also says, 'There is no difficulty or obstacle so large that you have no power, combined with ours, to overcome it.' You are never ever alone. God bless.

Natural disasters remind us of love

Christchurch city was struck by a 7.1 earthquake at 4.35 am this morning. My husband and I would have been there if we hadn't decided to drive down this morning instead. I have spoken to loved ones in Christchurch, and the shock is so evident in their voices. Damage is widespread but thank God, no loss of life.

It shows me that the Earth changes are real; they're happening to us and our loved ones. And what I have learned is not new - when disaster strikes, love is all that matters. We want to protect our loved ones, hear that they are okay.

In the future, humanity will not need natural disasters as reminders of the importance of love. Meanwhile today my heart goes out to all souls in Christchurch.

University study of Near Death Experiences

It is heartening to see that the worlds of spirituality and academia will soon meet. NZ Massey University researchers are conducting a large scale study of the phenomenon of near-death experiences (NDE). Bringing NDE into mainstream life is wonderful progress for humanity.

Of course, when we 'die' at the end of each lifetime we may experience similar phenomenon, eg moving through a tunnel with a bright light at the end. However, we can't remember the experience in the next life. That's why NDE research is so valuable.

Before meditating, clear clutter from your mind...

If you want to see beautiful light when you meditate, and it isn't happening, think of someone you love while you are meditating. I thought of my eldest daughter during meditation and the light became very bright. Your soul is pure love, and the love radiates divine light.

The most important thing to do before meditation is clear all the 'clutter' from your mind. It is impossible to meditate with a long 'to do list' swirling around in your head. I always write a list of tasks, phone calls and emails before I meditate so I can enjoy the peace.

Resentment separates you from Spirit

This morning I developed a rare (these days) resentment over a family member whom I asked to help me, but he chose not to. I asked God to forgive him, and to forgive myself for resenting him. I asked for all the resentful energy to be removed from my energy field.

When I meditated just now, the beautiful light was still there. Forgiveness works! I know from years of past experience that resentment sits above me like a dark cloud, separating me from the sunlight of the Spirit (an AA expression). Not any more...

Your spirit guides are cheering you on...

This morning's meditation was amazing. The light I saw behind my eyes was beautiful pulsating purple light, full of love. I didn't want to end the meditation and leave the light. When I 'die' I will be going into that light where my teachers and soul group will be waiting.

Today my spirit guides said to remember they are always right beside me, as are the spirit guides for every soul on Earth. Your guides stand on the sidelines of your life, cheering you on. They're not allowed to interfere but they can encourage, guide and support you.

This Hazeldene quote stopped me in my tracks just now: 'Name one difference between you and your partner that you respect'. I struggle immensely with this issue. My personality has always felt that my way is best, therefore yours is flawed! It is my major character defect.

My soul knows that each person on Earth is unique and special - no single astrology chart (life plan) or personality is the same. We grow spiritually by learning to embrace that uniqueness in everyone. We are all chips off the old block; God energy. We are all love.

Linda Backmans's book 'Bringing Your Soul To Light' has an excellent description of what you are: '...an amalgamation of eternal soul nature and human personality traits attached to a dispensable body and brain'. How's that! It gets to the point of the real you.

Your daily challenges arise from the battle between your soul's desire for spiritual growth and your personality's desire for an easy life. I am learning to relax, let go, and follow my heart (my soul's desire). It's working - I am enjoying life much more these days.

My personality's favorite time is around 4am. That's when I sometimes wake and lie there worrying. 'I've got to learn how to use my new laptop'...'How do I deal with a client who struggles to be regressed?'...'What's for dinner tonight?'...'Did I feed the chook?'

It all seems too hard in the dark, yet when I get up in the morning, the sun is shining and things seem quite manageable.

My soul is not at all phased by daily challenges. It can see the bigger picture of my life, and the even bigger picture of the entire universe. What does a new laptop, a tricky client, a boring meal or a grumpy chook matter in the bigger scheme of things? I'm fine; you're fine!

We humans need to lighten up

I am reading an excellent book by Dr Linda Backman titled 'Bringing Your Soul to Light'. Linda is a very experienced past life and between life regressionist. She says many of us are much too serious and heavy with ourselves as we sit in judgment of our behavior in life.

I relate to this message an advanced soul received from their guide about being a spiritual teacher: 'Be sure to have fun at the same time you are teaching.' I'm designing my new website; I envisage it being a place of fun and inspiration, where you'll want to visit often.

The loving message that comes through from the spirit realms: 'We humans need to lighten up!'

This cool proverb came through on today's AA Hazeldene email reading: 'Mile by mile, life's a trial, Yard by yard, it's not so hard, Inch by inch, it's a cinch'. How very true it is. I look back on the 25 years of my sobriety and wonder how I did it. One step at a time....

I look forward to the next 25 years of spiritual teaching and wonder how I'll have the energy to do it. But I will, one step at a time...Taking life moment by moment is the only way to overcome fear of the future, the unknown. In this moment, right now, is joy.

Lesson from body dissection documentary

I've only ever seen one dead body - it was a baby, and it happened 16 years ago. Last night I watched an excellent NZ TV documentary that showed medical students dissecting dead bodies. It was an hour long, shot in close-up and was, to be frank, shocking. I felt nauseous.

But what made it profound was that three of the body donors had been interviewed about their body donation. Those interviews were interspersed amongst the dissection footage, which was filmed over two years. At the end, the students watched the donor interviews.

It was remarkable. Where the students had been calm and detached during dissection, they became extremely emotional after the donor interviews, connecting a live person to their dissected body. I saw that the physical body is just 'meat'. Your soul is the real you.

I sometimes wonder whether my current state of courage and faith will last - I would hate to go back to the pit of despair I sunk into this time last year. I am remembering the words of an AA friend: 'When you do the right things, the right things happen...'

He's right! If I stick to my daily plan of prayer, meditation, exercise, eat well, write, rest, laugh, and love my friends and family - how can I fail? I am creating my life every moment of every day. I know what works: I just need to keep doing it.

Are you an old soul?

My best friend and I discussed recently how soul weary we both are, and how we hope this is our last lifetime on Earth. We talked about being 'old souls'. She said younger souls are much more attached to Earth: she saw on TV a 50 year old man who is terrified of dying.

You will know in your heart if you are an old soul. I am not physically weary, emotionally weary but I know I am soul weary; I have lived hundreds of lives to reach this point. Now I just want to help countless people discover their soul purpose, then go 'home'.

Real 'home' is different things to different people. It might be another dimension, another planet, and might include merging with another person's energy. I know my true 'home' and I can't wait!

You are never alone on your spiritual journey

This morning before I meditated I said 'Good morning' to my spirit guides and helpers. It was comforting to see their lights, and know that they are there for me. I need to remember that life is a team effort - you are never alone on your journey of spiritual growth.

You can practice connecting with your spirit guides. Close your eyes for five minutes - do it at the same time every day if you can - they'll look out for you then. You'll see tiny dots of white light. There may be one or many lights (I see up to six). Say hi to them!

Excitement is the key to your soul purpose

I am re-reading 'The Awakener' by Sandy Stevenson - I bought it in 1997 but couldn't relate to it then. My spiritual vibration has now reached a point where the book makes perfect sense. I particularly love Sandy's message: 'Truth brings excitement and enthusiasm'.

She says that you will know your soul purpose by how much it excites you. The excitement test is foolproof. Since identifying my own soul purpose of teaching about soul purpose regression I have felt very excited. This is what I came here to do!

If you are unexcited and unenthusiastic about your life, you are not on track. Find your excitement and embrace it. Good luck.

Daily issues are a tiny part of eternity

Even though I have 'come home to myself' it doesn't mean I am immune from the daily challenges of Earth life. I have on-going issues including technology angst, boredom with eating and preparing food, worrying about my teenage daughters, and missing a loved one.

Detachment helps me to see that these issues are such a tiny part of my eternal life. Summer is coming; food is necessary; my daughters will be fine; I will see my loved one again. Overall I have a great life. I love and I am loved, and that's what matters.

Enlightenment is knowing yourself 100%

For 25 years I thought enlightenment was a state few can reach - a sort of holy orgasmic ecstasy accompanied by harp music. I know differently now. This morning when I woke, I knew that I had reached my enlightenment. I finally know myself 100%, body and soul.

You don't need to look outside yourself for deep spiritual experiences. What you need to do is look deep inside yourself. For 25 long years I have been quietly preparing my cake of enlightenment, and today I took it out of the oven! What a great feeling.

The final piece of the puzzle was identifying my soul purpose. Yesterday I did my first past life regression on a friend. It was a huge revelation for both of us - she was experiencing her first regression.

What I discovered is that regression work is as easy as breathing to me. I was born to do this work. I have finally, after 53 years, connected with my soul purpose. It's amazing!

From this experience came the title for my new work: soul purpose regression. You are reading the words of a brand new soul purpose regressionist (and author).

I thank you so much for being part of my journey thus far, and I hope you continue to voyage with me. We'll both get to where we want to be, one day at a time...

Lose the fear and just do it!

I had a great day yesterday. Driving home, I thought about my life...my house is fine, my appearance is fine, my wardrobe fine, my health fine, my relationships fine...there is nothing to get in the way of living soulfully instead of fearfully.

My personality is still trying to unsettle my soul with insecure thoughts about my new career as a past life regressionist. So I have adopted the Nike motto: 'Just do it!' It's working. I am ignoring my doubts and fears and getting on with it every day.

I wish for you many soulful days. Lose the fear and just do it!

Death is a big leap of trust...

It's a big leap to trust that your mind survives the death of your physical body. Even though you have 'died' countless times, you forget the process until you find yourself there again at the end of another life. 'Oh, that's right, it's no big deal. What was the fuss about?'

My mission is to bring that awareness into my life now, well before, hopefully, I die. As I work more and more with my mind/soul, doing regression work, it gives me a stronger sense of the truth of all things spiritual. It's comforting and exhilarating all at once!

Lose your fear of death

I was afraid of death until recently. That fear inspired my spiritual quest for over 25 years. As I learned more about my soul I released the fear. Past life regressions have helped me to trust my mind's eye, my inner sight, which is quite different to physical sight.

Your inner sight/mind's eye/soul is what you experience during a regression. It's hard to imagine life without a body: regression gives you a taste of that wonderful freedom. You sense the presence of loving soul group members and spirit guides, which is just blissful.

This too will pass...everything passes.

I am reading 'Same Soul, Many Bodies' by Dr. Brian Weiss. It is about progression therapy - experiencing future lives - and it's fascinating. I can see the value of including progression therapy in my work as a past life regressionist: the future is where we're heading.

Past lives created your present life; your present life creates your future lives. Knowledge of all three can help you break long standing unhealthy patterns. You always have several potential future life paths - the path you choose is influenced by your life today.

No death is an accident...

A dear friend is mourning the death of a young work colleague who had a heart attack due to a birth defect. It is so important to remember that no death is an accident. We set up our life plan before we incarnate, and our death is written into that plan.

Suicide is the only 'unplanned' death, and someone who suicides comes straight back into similar circumstances to finish their lesson. So when someone dies, be happy for them - their lesson is over. In no time, it seems, their loved ones will join them in the spirit world.

Make a plan and stick to it...

For the first time in my life I'm learning to relax, pace myself, let go of impatience. At last I know that I am fulfilling my soul purpose for this lifetime. There is no urgency any more - I've made a plan for my past life regression work and audio books and I'll stick to it.

Much of my impatience in the past was feeling that I was wasting time. I know now that every step along the way was necessary. I brought up two beautiful daughters - they are 19 and 16 yrs and I am now free to take up my spiritual work. Finally I trust my journey.

After experiencing my soul during regression recently, I want to do it regularly. Now when I meditate, I simply open up to experiencing my soul. I don't see the brilliant gold/white light I saw during the regression, but I do see beautiful rosy/purple colored light.

How can you progress spiritually? It's a combination of faith, discipline and sheer plodding! I look back on the last 25 years since I have been spiritually aware and it's those three things that have kept me going. I am amazed at how far I have come; I was truly a lost soul.

Faith to keep believing when there seems no light; discipline to keep praying and meditating even when you don't feel like it; plodding through the humdrum days, which are many on Earth. Keep at it and you'll never go back to the dark days of the past.

Fridays will be 'my day'. I anticipate many busy years ahead, and I want to pace myself. This morning I had a longer meditation because I wanted to experience my soul, as I did on my regression course. I felt positive, my mind was free of clutter and negativity.

I felt my heart center open and saw beautiful rosy/gold light. I realized that my soul is vast and it's all love. I enjoyed the warm glowing light and felt at peace. I know this experience is available to me whenever I want - my soul is always waiting to connect.

During my regression work I'll help people experience their soul. You can work on it yourself, starting right now. Commit to releasing all resentments, self pity and negativity as they arise. Over time your personality's grip will loosen, and you will experience your soul.

Where is the spirit world?

For years I have been trying to imagine the spirit world - what it looks like, where it is exactly. I have progressed from thinking it is up in the sky to imagining it as an invisible dimension about a meter above ground level. Still I've felt frustrated: I just don't know!

Reading Silver Birch last night he mentions that he lives on the 'inner spheres'. Spiritual literature often talks about the 'God within'. Now I am thinking of the spiritual world as an inner dimension, that gets deeper and more radiant the more knowledge we gain.

Believe in the power of prayer

I believe in prayer. I pray every morning for a list of people, including drinking alcoholics, people with serious illness, and people who are struggling in their lives. My spirit guides said this morning that prayer is potent: it really works.

When I pray for people, I say their name aloud and picture their face in my mind. I think of these prayers as spiritual hugs because often - especially with active alcoholism and cancer - there is nothing I can do to help them apart from pray.

I've just noticed that I have written 400 blogs. During meditation recently I realized that it takes enormous energy for my spirit guides and teachers to reach out to me from the higher vibrations of the spirit realms. They are committed to me and my work.

In return for their efforts I need to do my part - focus on reaching out to them during meditation. Spiritual growth is team work. We each have to commit time and energy. If you want to connect with your spirit guides, practice meditating, even for five minutes daily.

The rotten meat dream

Two nights ago I had a vivid dream about a rotten meat chop! I don't usually eat chops, so that was unusual. In the dream I could clearly see the gray/green rotten meat and I could smell it - appalling. I could hear a conversation with my daughter about the meat.

What was the purpose of the dream? It showed me how alive we truly are in our dream state. I could see color, smell and hear as easily as I can in my so called awake state.

It is easy to be doubtful about impressions we receive through dreams and past life regressions. We need to trust that they are real. Our soul (Big Me) knows they are real, we have to teach our personality (little me) to know it too.

During a regression on my training course in Brisbane my heart center was completely open and I 'met' my soul for the first time. It was overwhelming: the brilliance of the light was astonishing, beautiful, and I couldn't stop crying. I said, 'It's me, my soul!'

Learn to 'see' your spirit guides

I have said in previous blogs that I see my spirit guides as small lights when I close my eyes. I have been aware of their existence for many years. This morning during meditation I suddenly pictured those lights as people standing before me. It was so comforting.

I relate completely to these words. As you may now know, I haven't touched a drop of alcohol in twenty five and a half years. I know all about the abyss of despair. I also know about the miracle of the life that is possible if you crawl out of that abyss into the sunlight – one day at a time.

Struggling? Have faith - life will get better

A year ago I was feeling depressed, which is rare for me. I couldn't see the way forward, and even doubted God's existence for one terrible day. Thank goodness it passed. I spent a lot of time praying, asking to be shown my path so I could help people grow spiritually.

One year on and my life has improved beyond measure. I am in close touch with my soul energy, I am on track with my life purpose, and I'm feeling a freedom and lightness I could only dream of during those dark days. How was this change possible? Faith; heaps of faith.

Solar Eclipse means ends and beginnings

Yesterday was a solar eclipse - we had another one last year. The effects of both eclipses will last for up to five years. What does it mean for you? Eclipses are about endings, clearing away redundant situations and relationships, to make way for new beginnings.

I am reading lately about how we learn through experiencing the polarities of Earth life - dark/light, joy/sorrow. It is midwinter in New Zealand; minus two degrees this morning. I don't handle the cold well, and am very grateful for my log fire and warm house.

This week I am going to Queensland for ten days, where the temperature is over twenty degrees. I will really appreciate the warm weather because of the cold weather here. A friend has just returned from ten days in Queensland and said the weather was 'boring'!

Love melts the toughest of resistance

Yesterday I took part in a family confrontation, to help a family member confront their addiction. Even with so much love in the room, it was an extremely harrowing time for all concerned. When addiction has us in its grip, it is a formidable foe. Believe me, I know!

What I learned is that even the most resistant behavior of our personality melts under the influence of genuine, sustained soul love. If you, or someone you know, is struggling with addiction or a 'stuck attitude' please let your loved ones in to help you.

I've just read an article about 48 year old NZ woman Pam Hermansen who is dying of terminal breast cancer. The photo showed Pam and her gorgeous coffin, painted with pink ribbons and life-like breasts! When Pam first saw her coffin, she said she 'felt no fear'.

Every day when I meditate I read a few words from an Alice Bailey book - she channeled the Wisdom Teachings. I find these words very comforting. It's about Maitreya, the Christ energy, and it says, 'To him all seekers are known...'

It's wonderful to think that Maitreya is personally aware of every one of us on the spiritual path. It can feel very lonely at times. When I feel that I'm not making progress, all I can do is cling to my faith in God's plan - and remember that I'm loved in the spirit world.

I am re-reading 'Light from Silver Birch', from a series of channeled books written between 1938-1984. Silver Birch is a native Indian master in the spirit world. He writes:

'I always tell people to cast their mind back to the time when they had reached what they thought was the uttermost depths. It was a pit from which they thought they could never be rescued. Yet when it happened, the way was shown. It will continue to be shown.'

I was in that pit in 1984 - the depths of alcoholism. I believed there was no future for me; I could not go on. But one day at a time the way was shown to me, and continues to be shown. I am being lovingly supported every day by Spirit. And so are you.

We experience all circumstances

Yesterday as I tidied my already tidy house, I laughed to myself at what a 'neat freak' I am. It came to me that I might be neat in this lifetime, but I will have had lifetimes where I was an utter slob. We experience all circumstances throughout our many lives.

As I enjoy my beautiful home, I constantly remind myself that it's only temporary. Nothing on Earth lasts forever. One day someone else will live in this house, and eventually it will deteriorate and be pulled down. But for now it's mine to love, and I love it!

Spreading the message of Spirit via technology

Every relationship is karmic

I read this morning that 'every relationship is karmic'. It is so true. There are no random relationships in your life - each person is here to learn from you, teach you, and resolve unfinished business between you both. These connections can be traced to previous lifetimes.

Think of the people close to you, and figure out the purpose of your relationship with them. Do you need to help them? Do they need to help you? Is there resentment, a joint task (parenting) or unfulfilled love? Identify the purpose and you can release the karma forever.

You are more than your physical body

It is easy to forget that your physical body is just the (imperfect) vehicle your soul uses to fulfil its life purpose. The demands of your body seem endless: food, sleep, recreation, clothing, healthcare.

Here is a quick daily exercise to check on the state of your three 'bodies': physical, emotional, mental. Rate them, 0= Very bad, 10= Great. Scores: 8 - 10/10, congratulations, keep it up! 5-8/10, room for improvement. Below 5/10, serious life changes are needed. Your soul needs you to be physically, emotionally, mentally well.

This morning I watched a young mother wired with an Ipod pushing her baby in a stroller. I felt a little sad because the Ipod took the place of two special connections: with her baby, and with herself.

Yesterday I had lunch with a dear friend, played riotous card games with my family, enjoyed a good book - all this at a time when I am trying to sell my house and 'should' be feeling stressed.

Illness happens when you are at dis-ease

Maitreya says that when you are content and at peace within yourself, you don't get sick. Illness only happens when you are at dis-ease with yourself. I know this to be true from my own experience. Last winter I felt very depressed and had bad influenza. Usually I never get sick.

My youngest daughter always talks of feeling tired, unwell, having no energy. Not surprisingly she is often sick. However, being a teenager, she is not interested in discussing the power of positive thinking! Hopefully she will discover it when she is older.

Around 25 years ago I picked up a book that changed my life forever: Shirley MacLaine's Out On A Limb. It was a radical book at the time - a Western woman writing about reincarnation - and Shirley unlocked the door to spirituality for millions of people worldwide.

The bright light at death is the spirit world

I read a newspaper article yesterday in which scientists were trying to prove that the lights people see just before they die are biological, rather than mystical. They say that an electrical charge fires in the brain at the moment of death, causing the bright light.

I've read thousands of accounts over 25 years of near death experiences. Those people all said the same thing: the bright light is the spirit world, their true home. Those souls didn't stay there - they chose to return to Earth, but they never feared death again.

I just don't believe we die, we go into a hole or fire, and that's the end. It's exactly the opposite - death marks our return to our amazing, happy existence as souls in the spirit world.

It is fascinating to see world events through the eyes of astrology. The Icelandic volcano eruption and the USA oil spill can both be seen in event charts. These two events are a cry for help from Mother Earth - one we should heed if humanity is to survive on this planet.

The ousting of Australian Prime Minister Rudd by his female deputy is easily explained. Jupiter (expansion) and Uranus (unexpected events) have both just moved into Aries (leadership). Watch out for further global disruption in coming months, especially in the economy.

Standing at the kitchen sink this morning, boiling the jug for my hot water and lemon, I got insight for this blog. I'm getting 'kitchen sink insights' most mornings now - Spirit use water and electricity as conduits, so they're catching me at a good time!

This morning I reflected on how far I have come in nearly 26 years. This time 26 years ago, I wanted to kill myself. I was sick (alcoholism), lonely, and I wanted to die. If you had shown me my future then, 26 years down the track, I would never have believed it.

It shows that miracles can happen, lives can be turned around, one day at a time...

I am writing a book containing 101 inspirational, quirky short essays, titled 101 Soul Smiles. I needed five subjects to make up the 101, but just couldn't come up with five subjects that I hadn't already written about. It was becoming vexing, so yesterday I prayed for answers.

Last night I 'happened to' read about Edison and Enstein receiving inspiration for inventions while they slept. I went to sleep, and half woke at 4am with the final five subjects for my book. I woke my husband, told him and went back to sleep! My prayer was answered...

I was enjoying the winter sun this morning, grateful for my beautiful new house. I thought about my previous house - also brand new and gorgeous - but I never felt at home there. It was upsetting because there was no obvious reason for my sense of alienation.

Now I can see that I wasn't meant to stay there because my real home was, in fact, this house. So, major disruptions and two house builds within three years, and here we are - thank goodness! My heart knew things weren't right before. Trust your heart: it never lies.

The spirit world is veiled from sight

I am fascinated by the closeness of the spirit world dimension, yet we cannot see it. My house overlooks an estuary - at present a distant row of trees hides a lovely view of the open sea. The owners will cut down the trees soon, exposing the view. I can't wait!

The spirit world is hidden too, behind a veil. It's that way so you don't get constantly homesick. You came to Earth to fulfill your mission to grow spiritually. When the time is right, the veil will fall away (trees cut down), and you'll be back in the beauty of home.

Successfully negotiating the gauntlet of Earth Life

I recently re-watched 'The First Knight' about King Arthur and Lancelot. There's a scene where Lancelot takes on the gauntlet - a series of vicious swinging axes, swords and obstacles. Others failed, but Lancelot stayed calm and successfully negotiated the gauntlet.

Free your mind from your body regularly

I am reading Betty Shine's book 'The Infinite Mind', about the ability of the mind to leave the body, to be free. 'When we become overwhelmed by stress...we are imprisoning our mind, the one energy that has the ability to leave, refuel and return to the physical body.'

I like lying in bed, thinking - my mind is free to roam, after the pressures of the day. When I go on retreats alone for several days my mind gets to experience true freedom; it's wonderful. Take the time to regularly free your mind. Your mind is your soul, the real you.

Quality matters with love, not quantity

I wrote last week about feeling isolated and lonely. I don't feel like that anymore. There has been a big shift this week. I am making regular conscious contact with my teacher in the spirit world, i.e. he communicates with me via writing. He also sends reassuring messages through the day.

I know that I am deeply loved by several people on Earth, and I love them. They know who they are. It's not many people, but when it comes to love, quality matters not quantity. The combination of love from the spirit world and love from Earth has taken away my loneliness. Peace at last!

Take care of your body - your soul needs it!

For years I have struggled to do yoga regularly. I strongly believe in its value, but have not had the discipline to stick at it - the time of day has never seemed right. That all changed this morning. I got up 15 minutes earlier and did a short yoga session as the sun rose.

I know now that I can do it every weekday morning. I am so thrilled to have made the commitment. I have prayed and meditated for 15 years; yoga will become just as pivotal to my life. I want to keep my body flexible and healthy so I can fulfill my soul purpose on Earth.

The Violet Flame is like a divine vacuum-cleaner

During my meditation this morning I called on the Violet Flame to burn up all negativity and fear around me. I forget to do this. The Violet Flame is like a divine vacuum-cleaner, sucking away all negativity from your aura. Picture it as a giant purple flame surrounding you.

I also asked my spirit guides to remove blockages from the channel which connects me to the spirit world. They identified a blockage in my heart, related to the communication difficulties with my parents. They will help me speak my truth to them and remove the blockage.

Affirmations can clear emotional blockages

I have a friend who is feeling deep despair at present. Her life is in turmoil. She is afraid of the future so is refusing to face it, and is 'living in the moment'. I pointed out that her fear of the future is creating a blockage which must be removed for her to move forward.

How do we get past such despair and fear? Use a positive affirmation. My friend's affirmation: 'My future is safe and happy'. Every time she feels fearful or despairing she'll say those words. Sharing her emotional pain with me is helping too - we are never alone.

I have just spent an amazing few hours listening to Margaret Mcelroy channel the Maitreya energy. There was so much information about Earth climate change (it is heralding the beginning of a new spiritual age) plus advice on how to advance spiritually and help others.

Maitreya's advice is to speak your truth always. My husband and I visited my parents yesterday. They usually ridicule spirituality, so I haven't told them about my past life therapy training. Now I see that I must speak my truth for me. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks.

The story of the falcon and the bird in the bucket

Yesterday my husband was outside and called to me, saying there was a falcon on the lawn. I went to the laundry door and looked out, and sure enough, there was a falcon standing on the grass just meters away. I had never seen one outside of captivity. I was astonished. Hawks and falcons are my totem birds. Then I looked down, and there was a small live bird in a bucket right by my feet. What was going on?

This morning I received this insight from my spiritual teachers: The bird in the bucket represents my lower self, the falcon is my higher self. Who do I choose to be? The bird in the bucket is trapped in the illusion of fear, separation and loneliness. The falcon is free to discover the joys of spiritual growth. Its journey is much harder than that of the small bird, but the rewards are greater. Who do I choose?

I choose to be the falcon.
