I thought today's purpose was a spiritual study group I am leading tonight. But I am also spending time with my sick teenage daughter. She is reading 'Clara's War' about a teenage Holocaust survivor. It has opened her eyes to the appalling suffering of the Jews.
My daughter and I pored over an atlas, discussed the Nazi invasion of Europe, pondered how so few people could massacre so many. She is learning about the depths of cruelty and heights of compassion of humanity. This has been my - unplanned - soul purpose for today.
