100 Items campaign is good for your soul

There is a new environmental campaign called 100 Items. The idea is you limit yourself to owning 100 items, ending the compulsive desire to buy things. For environmental and economic reasons I have reduced my spending this year and I feel liberated by my decision. I was in a shopping mall recently and thought, 'I am over all this...'

The more possessions you own, the more attached you are to the Earth, the harder it will be to leave. When you die your only luggage for the afterlife journey will be the qualities you have acquired - everything else is gone. I hope my death trolley bag is full of compassion, joy and acceptance of my fellow human beings.
