I have a friend who is feeling deep despair at present. Her life is in turmoil. She is afraid of the future so is refusing to face it, and is 'living in the moment'. I pointed out that her fear of the future is creating a blockage which must be removed for her to move forward.
How do we get past such despair and fear? Use a positive affirmation. My friend's affirmation: 'My future is safe and happy'. Every time she feels fearful or despairing she'll say those words. Sharing her emotional pain with me is helping too - we are never alone.
