To him all seekers are known...

Every day when I meditate I read a few words from an Alice Bailey book - she channeled the Wisdom Teachings. I find these words very comforting. It's about Maitreya, the Christ energy, and it says, 'To him all seekers are known...'

It's wonderful to think that Maitreya is personally aware of every one of us on the spiritual path. It can feel very lonely at times. When I feel that I'm not making progress, all I can do is cling to my faith in God's plan - and remember that I'm loved in the spirit world.

Act on the urgings of your soul

Today I will finish writing a little spiritual book. If I had listened to all my self doubts it would never have been written: 'Do I have enough knowledge? Who will publish it? What if it sinks into oblivion like my last book?' Its completion is an act of sheer faith.

My soul urged me to write the book - it has a much broader vision of God's plan than I do. If I listen to the urgings of my soul, I might just achieve my life purpose on Earth. Are you acting on the messages you receive from your soul? Have faith: make it happen.

Does self-obsession rule your life?

A friend in her thirties says that her contemporaries are having Botox injections, and she feels under pressure to join them. It staggers me. I am 51 years old - my thirties were about raising a family. I was busy and fulfilled and gave little thought to my body.

Trying to halt the aging process whilst stockpiling material things is a recipe in futility. Wrinkle-free skin and a bulging wardrobe will not make you happy. In God's plan happiness is being grateful, and helping others less fortunate than you. It's as simple as that.

Have faith in your life dreams

I have two special dreams for my life. They share a common factor: it will need a miracle for them to eventuate. During doubtful times I despair of my dreams ever happening. But most days I stay positive and hopeful, and do everything in my power to make them reality.

Your soul - and God - asks just one thing of you: that you have faith in your life purpose. If your dreams do not eventuate there will be a good reason in God's plan for it. Most importantly, at the end of your life you can look back and say (as I will): 'I really did give it my all'.

Your soul purpose is whatever today brings

I was standing at the kitchen sink this morning, thinking about the day ahead. I will meditate, do washing, make phonecalls, write my new book, see two quit smoking clients, pick up my daughter from school, do yoga, and pray/think often about a friend in crisis.

Then it hit me: this is my soul purpose! Today's activities, which have been 'sent' to me, are my life purpose for today. Everything that happens on Earth is part of the bigger picture - God's plan. So accept willingly the tiny piece of plan you are responsible for today.
