A quote from 'Testimony of Light' by Helen Greaves: 'Beauty penetrates the materialism of Earth'. Beauty is one of my values and I feel kind of deflated when I haven't experienced it for a while.
Last week I watched my favourite music DVD 'Celtic Woman'. Their song 'Orinoco Flow' will be screened at my funeral - it's an exhilarating, joyful song, sung with great passion. It is beautiful.
During my retreat I swam in the river on a hot day. The cool, clear water...the gentle breeze in the trees as I drifted beneath them...the blue sky...I was (literally) soaking in the beauty of my surroundings. I felt totally alive.
Things of beauty are gifts from God. How often do you enjoy beauty? Do bring beauty into your life as often as you can...

Happy New Year...
On New Years Day I celebrated 25 years of sobriety. It's been an amazing journey, very hard at times, and I never dreamed I would make it to 25 years without drinking, but I did. My secret? One day at a time. Anything is possible living one day at a time.
I have been re-reading 'Testimony of Light' by Helen Greaves, about our wonderful life in the spirit world. It was channelled by a nun. Before we come to Earth we set up a blueprint for what we want to achieve; a second blueprint shows the reality of that life after we die.
It's humbling to read of a nun not being happy with her second blueprint. If so, what will mine be like? The two blueprints has motivated me to work hard on my goal of being a spiritual teacher. I don't want to see my second blueprint and think, 'how did I go so wrong?' Please imagine your own blueprints as you head into 2010...
