I slept badly last night and lay awake in the early hours obsessing about all sorts of things. When I went for my morning walk I realized that fear was behind the obsessions. When we are hungry, angry, lonely or tired it is easy to succumb to fear. I was very tired.
During my meditation I pictured fear as lots of little 'cling-ons', sticking to me like velcro. The fear 'cling-ons' were attracted to me because of my tiredness; it made me vulnerable. It's another lesson in taking care of the basics: eat, sleep, let go and love.
