Joy brings us close to the spirit world

Last night friends came for dinner and we played an enthusiastic game of Trivial Pursuit after wards. As we joked and laughed I observed how joyful I felt - and how easy it felt to be joyful. I remembered that joy is the natural state of the soul, and felt blessed.

At such times the veil between Earth and the spirit world seems gossamer-light, as if I could just pull it aside and step through. In contrast, when I experience self-pity or resentment, the spirit world seems unreachable. Soul awareness is vital to our emotional health.

Remember to take 'mini holidays' often

It takes a great deal of energy to live as a human on earth - such discipline, such focus. Your soul urges you to take regular 'mini holidays' to relax and unwind. You are ordered to have fun!

I love Trivial Pursuit. Last night I played for two hours with friends and I was completely absorbed; there was teasing and much laughter. Today I feel refreshed. Games, a good book or movie, lunch with friends are healthy necessary breaks from the job of spiritual growth.
