A book I am reading suggests that when we die we take our addictions with us to the spirit world. If you crave cigarettes, alcohol or coffee here, you will still do so over there. It's an astonishing thought, but makes sense: addictions keep us attached to Earth.
I am happy I released my addictions many years ago - cannabis, alcohol, cigarettes, coffee - and more recently sugar. The world's obsession with coffee poses an interesting issue when people die and can't have their fix anymore. Face up to your addictions now...

Why bother meditating and praying?
The simple answer to that question: daily meditation and prayer reminds us who we really are. We are not this decaying container of flesh and blood that is driven by endless desires. We are soul! We are living breathing parts of God and always will be...
