Find the positive side to challenges

I am struggling to adapt to a strange environment - the house we are staying in is not 'user friendly'. And my youngest daughter has a nasty flu, requiring lots of nursing and love. Daily life right now is a challenge.

When I walk each morning I try to find the positive side to my challenges (although my daughter's flu is tricky!). It helps me not to sink into self-pity and despair. A good laugh helps, as does talking with friends. I'll get there...

Gratitude is your soul speaking...

I am feeling grateful today. Grateful for a warm bed on freezing nights...hot nourishing food...good friends...hope and optimism for the future. My gratitude is amplified by witnessing the self-pity and lack of acceptance a friend is experiencing - it's a terrible place to be.

When you feel grateful it is a message from your soul: this chance to experience human life is a gift from God. Make the most of it; appreciate it. Even hard times reveal opportunities for gratitude if you look for them. Practice an attitude of gratitude every day.
