Resentment separates you from Spirit

This morning I developed a rare (these days) resentment over a family member whom I asked to help me, but he chose not to. I asked God to forgive him, and to forgive myself for resenting him. I asked for all the resentful energy to be removed from my energy field.

When I meditated just now, the beautiful light was still there. Forgiveness works! I know from years of past experience that resentment sits above me like a dark cloud, separating me from the sunlight of the Spirit (an AA expression). Not any more...

Hurtful people are our greatest teachers

When you go home to the spirit world all the unfinished business in relationships goes on hold until the next lifetime. There is only forgiveness in our real home towards the people who hurt us. It's like timeout in a basketball game, and life on Earth is a game, remember?

How do you cope now with people who hurt you? I pray for them each morning and say three times 'I forgive you'. Even if I don't feel it in my heart I do it anyway, and over time I experience the true meaning of the words. Hurtful people are our greatest teachers: they teach us about forgiveness.

Forgive and start the new year afresh...

'Tis the season for...forgiveness. It came to me during meditation this morning that I want to forgive the two managers who bullied me while I was their temporary employee earlier this year. I am forgiving them for two reasons:

Firstly, I want to end the karma between us; forgiving them frees me of that painful connection. Secondly, I feel sincere compassion for their remorse when they return to the spirit world and understand the devastating impact of their cruel actions.

Has someone wronged you this year? Forgive them and move on...

You may be faking the sincerity of your forgiveness to start with - resentment simmers like a good stew - but after a few months of dedicating yourself to forgiving them, you will notice a difference. They won't get under your skin quite the same. Serenity returns....

Your soul is always ready to forgive

Yesterday I had a heated row with my husband - we passionately disagree about an important issue regarding the new house. I went to bed still angry, which is unusual these days. This morning during my meditation I received a single word message: forgiveness.

Forgiving others comes naturally to your compassionate soul. So the longer you take to forgive someone, the further removed you are from soul contact, and the more bitter you will become. No fun at all! I will phone my husband and apologise so we can move on...
