If you were in solitary confinement 24/7 for months, with a light on, no clock, imagine the end result. You'd be nuts. If life is a bicycle wheel, time is the rim that holds the spokes together. Without it we would all be spinning out of control.
Time is only a perception, something we mortals agreed on so that we stay sane while on planet Earth. Take this simple test and confirm for yourself that time is only a perception:
a)You are starting a three hour exam when you realize you don't know any of the answers - but you can't leave the room for three hours.
b)You are on the last three hours of your tropical holiday, enjoying the sun before you head home to winter and your boring dead end job.
Both situations involve a three hour span, yet a) feels like a week, while b) feels like minutes. So when someone asks you in passing, 'What's the time?' maybe you should reply: 'What do you think? What does it feel like to you? Whizzing by? Moderate speed? Slow as a slug?'
Ummm...maybe not....

Balancing daily life and soul purpose
I am in a great place in my life right now; I feel that I am completely on track for achieving my soul purpose. I have identified my on-going challenge which is balancing the details of daily life with the big vision of my life purpose - the two must work together.
How do I do this? By staying focussed on today and letting the future take care of itself. Each day is one step closer to realising my dreams. Daily prayer and meditation helps, as does regular exercise like walking and yoga. Mind, body and soul - all in balance.

Get back in touch with nature
During my weekend retreat I was amazed at how simple things had such a profound impact on me: the warmth of the sun on my head...the sound of the ocean...the colour of shells. I realised that my busy life has put me completely out of touch with nature.
It takes self discipline to create space for reflection - I am very disciplined but I still find it hard. However now I can see the benefit of connecting with nature regularly. I am going to make Fridays my time for beach walking...to feel the sun, to hear the ocean.
