The spiritual year has reached its highpoint, with Wesak Festival tonight. Wesak is when Buddha materializes for several minutes in a remote Himalayan valley, at great personal cost. The Christ joins him as they bless local pilgrims and meditators from around the world.
If you've never meditated before, take advantage of the powerful Buddha and Christ energy that is available to you now. Sit for several minutes, picture Buddha and Christ, and welcome them into your heart. I experience wonderful light during these occasions.

Can you feel compassion for a rapist?
A friend asked yesterday: 'I know that consciousness just 'is' yet I feel judgment for people who have harmed myself or others. How can I not feel grief/anger when horrific acts like rape and murder are committed?' Here is my condensed answer to Rochelle's question...
Our personality reacts emotionally because we are attached to life; it hurts. Our soul does not react because it is detached from the world. Our Buddha-like self has compassion and forgiveness for the perpetrator's ignorance. Such is the constant test of living spiritually.

Wesak Festival - most powerful spiritual time
This weekend is the Wesak Festival - the most powerful spiritual time of the year. In a remote Himalayan valley the great spiritual masters, and thousands of pilgrims, gather. At the precise time of the Taurus full moon, Lord Buddha appears for several minutes.
It is the closest we get to God each year. God's Light and Love is poured through Lord Buddha to give us strength and comfort. This is a perfect time to start or deepen your meditation practice...the days before and after the full moon.

Ideas for enhancing meditations
I meditate most mornings for 15 minutes. I have no particular belief system but draw inspiration from Buddha and the Christ (not Jesus). I focus on images of those two great teachers - it helps lift my attention to soul level.
I read spiritual readings and prayers to set the meditation stage. These rituals remind me that I am soul, and my real home is a place of divine love. I never want to forget that!
