Resentments come from your lower self

Every so often I think about the many people who don't return phone calls and emails and I feel resentful. How can they just ignore me, as if I don't exist? I wouldn't treat them this way. It seems like a deliberate rejection and my lower self does not like rejection.

Then I consider it from a soul perspective. These people aren't scheming about how to upset me - they are just busy. They are living their lives as well as they can. Life teaches us to detach and see events from your higher self, and to know that all things pass...

Can you feel compassion for a rapist?

A friend asked yesterday: 'I know that consciousness just 'is' yet I feel judgment for people who have harmed myself or others. How can I not feel grief/anger when horrific acts like rape and murder are committed?' Here is my condensed answer to Rochelle's question...

Our personality reacts emotionally because we are attached to life; it hurts. Our soul does not react because it is detached from the world. Our Buddha-like self has compassion and forgiveness for the perpetrator's ignorance. Such is the constant test of living spiritually.
